Mumbai, Nov. 7 -- The Maharashtra government has cancelled a controversial land transaction in Pune that allegedly involved Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, sparking a major political storm across the state.
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has intensified its demand for Ajit Pawar's resignation, accusing the ruling coalition of shielding those responsible for the disputed deal.
The annulled transaction concerned around 40 acres of 'Mahar Watan' land - property reserved for Scheduled Caste communities - in Pune's upscale Mundhwa area near Koregaon Park.
