Buldhana, Dec. 31 -- Maharashtra Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal today accused the ruling BJP of abandoning its grassroots cadre and allowing the party to be taken over by outsiders.
Addressing the media here, Sapkal mocked the BJP's claim of making India "Congress-mukt", saying the party itself had become "karyakarta-mukt" (worker-free) by sidelining its long-time workers.
He said confusion and dissatisfaction have spread within the BJP during the ongoing local body elections across Maharashtra, as loyal workers were overlooked while newcomers from rival parties were granted election tickets.
