Nagpur, Dec. 10 -- The political atmosphere in the Maharashtra Assembly heated up today over the starred question raised against controversial IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe.

BJP MLA Krishna Khopde claimed in the lower house that supporters of Tukaram Mundhe threatened him, saying they would "deal with him."Khopde said he had submitted a starred question regarding how IAS officer Mundhe had improperly taken additional charge of the Smart City project, and the details were clearly mentioned in that submission.

He further claimed that after raising this issue, two individuals called him and allegedly issued him threats. He also claimed that while he was in Nagpur for the winter session, he received threatening phone calls.
