Mumbai, Oct. 14 -- In a historic step towards educational empowerment and heritage preservation, the Maharashtra government has sanctioned Rs 500 crore for the development of The People's Education Society, representing the largest-ever investment in institutions founded by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The five-year scheme, approved by the state cabinet, aims to renovate, conserve, and modernise nine educational institutions and two hostels located in Mumbai and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The initiative is designed to upgrade essential infrastructure while preserving the historical and ideological significance of these learning centres, originally founded by the architect of the Indian Constitution.
