Nashik, Sept. 25 -- A 22-year-old youth was brutally murdered with a sickle in Maharashtra's Nashik district, police said today.
The incident occurred last night between 10:30 pm and 11 pm in front of Parth Palace in the Shramiknagar area. The deceased was identified as Jagdish Wankhede (22), a native of Satana village, who worked at a local company.
According to police sources, after leaving his company, Wankhede was on his two-wheeler, on his way home to Shramiknagar, when he was stopped by a group of assailants.
The attackers demanded money, and when Wankhede refused, they repeatedly attacked him with a crowbar. Wankhede sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
