Mumbai, June 5 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS)' young leader Amit Thackeray clarified on Thursday that he was open to idea of an alliance between his party and the Shiv Sena (Thackeray) group.

When asked about the estranged cousins coming together ahead of upcoming local bodies elections, he replied that he had no objection to the two leaders coming together.

They (both the leaders) should talk to each other and decide about it, as both have each other's phone number, Amit added.

He made this statement a day after Shiv Sena (Thackeray) leader Sushma Andhare also appealed the two cousins to come together in interest of Maharashtra.
