Mumbai, June 16 -- The wall of a drain collapsed on Monday at Vashi Plaza in Vashi of Navi Mumbai, damaging nine two-wheelers and one tempo.
The incident occurred as the soil near the drain suddenly gave way as the drain did not have a strong safety wall.
After being informed of incident, the Vashi Fire Brigade personnel reached the spot and they are working to remove the vehicles that have fallen into the drain as well as the fallen trees.
It has been raining heavily since morning and roads in Navi Mumbai have been flooded due to heavy rains.
Citizens alleged that Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has not cleaned the drains before the onset of rainy season.
