Mumbai, June 18 -- A group of tribal MLAs and representatives of tribal social organisations, led by Minister of Food and Drug Administration Narhari Zirwal, met Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan and discussed various issues concerning tribal welfare at Raj Bhavan, here on Wednesday.

As per a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, the meeting discussed recruitment of employees from the Scheduled Tribes in the PESA (Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas) areas, removing inconsistencies in the recruitment orders, enacting legislation to preventing illegal acquisition of caste certificates, establishment of a Tribal University, construction of hostels for tribal boys and girls in university campuses at Mumbai and Pune, expediting pending fore...
