Mumbai, May 19 -- A long-standing feud between two families in Dahisar area of Mumbai suburb allegedly turned deadly, leaving three people dead and at least four others injured, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday at around 4:30 PM in Ganpat Patil Nagar's Lane No 14 in Dahisar West and involved the Gupta and Sheikh families, who have reportedly been embroiled in disputes since 2022.

According to police, the violence was triggered when Hamid Sheikh (49), allegedly under influence of alcohol, approached the coconut stall operated by Ram Gupta (50).

An argument broke out between the two, prompting both men to summon their sons for support.
