Nashik, Jan. 12 -- In a shocking incident of ATM theft in Satana tehsil town of the district, the thieves directly uprooted the ATM (automated teller machine) containing around Rs 26 lakh by tying a rope to a jeep and then fled the scene in the jeep in just 12 minutes, leaving police baffled.
This incident took place at the State Bank of India's ATM located in Yashwant Nagar area on Taharabad Road in Satana city of Nashik district in intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The thieves' highly planned and daring act of stealing the entire ATM machine has created a stir in the area and raised serious questions about the security systems of bank ATMs.
