Pune, Feb. 18 -- A thief from Karnataka who had been stealing cash from senior citizens allegedly by withdrawing money from ATMs in different parts of the city for a month, was finally caught by city police on Tuesday.

The Vishrambaug police have arrested a thief from Karnataka who committed 16 thefts and recovered from him a car, a two-wheeler and cash worth Rs 14 lakh as well as 166 ATM cards.

The arrested accused has been identified as Raju Prahlad Kulkarni (54), a resident of Alanhalli, Mysore, Karnataka.

During interrogation, Kulkarni confessed to have cheated 21 senior citizens on the pretext of helping them by withdrawing money from ATMs.
