Mumbai, Aug. 14 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray today appealed to the Jain community not to violate the Bombay High Court's ban on feeding pigeons.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with MNS functionaries, Thackeray said it was inappropriate to breach court directives in the guise of religion.
He pointed out that medical experts have repeatedly explained the health hazards pigeons pose to humans, which is why the High Court has banned feeding them. He asked the police to take strict action against anyone defying the ban.
