Sangli, Aug. 18 -- Former minister and farmers' leader Sadabhau Khot has criticised the state government, stating that the Cow Slaughter Ban Law, originally enacted to protect cattle, has effectively turned into a "cowherd killing law" due to the actions of "so-called cow protectors".
Khot alleged that cow protection has now become a business for these self-proclaimed vigilantes, who stop cattle owners on highways and public roads, extort money, and brutally assault them if they refuse to pay.
