Nagpur, Jan. 11 -- The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized over 522 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 2.6 crore during a major anti-narcotics operation in Maharashtra's Nagpur district today , officials said.
Acting on specific intelligence, DRI officials intercepted a truck near the Baghimhari Toll Plaza in the Savner area while it was en route from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh.
Upon thorough inspection, officers recovered 522.138 kilograms of ganja, which had been concealed beneath household items such as coolers, fans, blankets and jackets to evade detection.
The truck, bearing registration number MP-04 GB 3859, appeared to be carrying regular goods, but further examination revealed the hidden narcotics consignment.
