Mumbai, Dec. 21 -- Nationalist Congress Party national president and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today claimed the party's strong performance in the municipal council and nagar panchayat elections reflects the people's clear endorsement of 'development-oriented' and 'secular politics'.

Reacting to the results, Pawar said voters have chosen actual work and effective governance over empty assurances. He stated that decisions taken by the state government for overall development, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, have found acceptance among the electorate.
