Nagpur, Dec. 11 -- Despite widespread crop losses caused by heavy rain, hailstorms, and pest attacks across Maharashtra, the state government disbursed only Rs 75,000 from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) to affected farmers in October, according to information released under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

The RTI request was filed by activist Vaibhav Kokate on November 4.

In its response, the CMRF office disclosed that the fund had accumulated Rs 1,06,57,96,331 (over Rs 106 crore) during the month through contributions from citizens, social organisations, and corporate donors.
