Mumbai, Aug. 21 -- The Maharashtra government has submitted the ward plan for the upcoming municipal elections to the Election Commission, paving the way for polling by the end of this year.
With this, new corporators and mayors are expected to take charge in municipal bodies at the beginning of the new year.
The draft ward plans prepared by various municipal administrations have been approved by the Urban Development Department and sent to the Election Commission.
These draft ward plans will be published by August 25, after which citizens will be given about 15 days to file objections and suggestions. The Commission will hold hearings on these representations.
