Mumbai, May 26 -- Following the Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent onslaught of multiple threat calls and emails that had put the maximum city on high alert, the city police has undertaken 'Operation All-Out' as a preventive measure, under which it enhanced security checks, detained large number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and registered cases against landlords and tenants who failed to submit identity documents, sources said here on Monday.
During the operation, the hotels and lodges are being scrutinised, and over 250 illegal immigrants were deported last week.
Police are focusing on rented accommodations. Landlords in areas like Dadar, Kandivali, Malvani and Shivaji Park are facing action for not reporting tenant details.
