Chandrapur, May 11 -- Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister Dr Ashok Uike on Sunday inspected the deepening work of Irai river and directed concerned officials to increase the pace of work.

Speaking on occasion, he said that the work of deepening of Irai river, the lifeline of Chandrapur city, has been undertaken with the cooperation of everyone.

Stating that the Irai river deepening work started on April 25, the minister said that although the district administration has planned the deepening work properly, the pace of the work needs to be expedited.

The deepening will be done in three phases, the first phase is from Ramsetu to Chaurala bridge, the second phase is from Mana Tekdi (Lalpeth Colliery) and the third phase is from Irai ...
