Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, June 5 -- In observance of World Environment Day, a large-scale tree plantation campaign was launched across Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Thursday, with 31,000 saplings planted on the first day alone.
The initiative saw active participation from the Forest Department, 136 Eco Battalion, Gayatri Parivar, Central Industrial Security Force, NCC, and other organisations.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Collector Dilip Swamy emphasised the critical importance of clean air and water for sustaining life, lamenting that these vital resources are often neglected.
