Nashik, March 21 -- A devastating fire broke out in a commercial area at Pimpalgaon Baswant in Maharashtra's Nashik district, rapidly spreading through multiple shops and warehouses, causing extensive material damage, but no fatalities or injuries, police said on Friday.

According to sources, the fire originated around 11 am on Thursday in a godown used for manufacturing bhel bhatta, situated on private rented land in front of Baba Mangal Kharaiyam, near the highway.

The area housed several establishments, including photo frame shops, agricultural equipment stores, packaging suppliers, garage, scrap dealers, bamboo warehouse, onion sheds and waste paper shop depots.
