Maha: Marathi literatture Prof R R Borade passes away in Chhatrapti Sambhajinagar

Mumbai, Feb. 11 -- Senior Marathi novelist, rural narrator and Prof R R Borade died of old age on Tuesday morning at MGM hospital in Chhatrapti Sambhajinagar.

He was 85.

His novel Pachola, published about 55 years ago, was a huge hit.

Last week, his name was announced for the Vinda Karandikar Lifetime Achievement Award of the state government.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed grief over the demise of Prof R R Borade, saying that it is sad that Prof Borade passed away before accepting the Vinda Karandikar Lifetime Achievement Award.

In his condolence message, he said that Prof Borade added value to the Marathi literature with his authentic rural literary works.
