Mumbai, Aug. 1 -- A sudden act of violence involving a machete caused panic on a state transport bus travelling on the Baramati-Indapur route today, police said.
The incident occurred around 10:30 AM when the bus was halted at Katewadi.
According to preliminary reports, a passenger unexpectedly produced a sickle (koyta) and launched a ferocious attack on a fellow traveller seated nearby. The assault inflicted serious injuries on the victim and created immediate terror among other passengers, many of whom fled the vehicle in fear.
