Mumbai, Jan. 4 -- A criminal case has been registered against an individual for allegedly issuing threats and posting defamatory content against an election officer on social media platforms in Navi Mumbai.
The incident is linked to the ongoing preparations for the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation general elections.
The police action follows a complaint by Kalpana Gode, the Election Decision Officer and Sub-Divisional Officer for the Ghansoli ward. She reported that the accused contacted her via WhatsApp and subsequently circulated threatening and hateful messages aimed at defaming her.
