Kolhapur, March 12 -- The district court here on Wednesday granted a temporary relief to a self-styled journalist Prashant Koratkar while rejecting police department's application seeking to order Koratkar to appear in person for hearing.

The Bombay High Court had on Tuesday directed the district court to take an appropriate decision on cancellation of interim bail granted to Koratkar, who had allegedly threatened renowned historian Indrajeet Sawant over his comments on the Bramhin community while participating in TV debate on Hindi blockbuster film 'Chhaava'.

Koratkar had also made objectionable remarks on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji.
