Kolhapur, Feb. 10 -- Journalists from the district on Monday staged a 'dharna' agitation in front of the district collector's office here to press for their demand of making a provision of Rs 250 crore in upcoming state budget for Late Shankarrao Chavan Suvarna Mahotsav Patrakar Kalyan Nidhi for implementation of various welfare schemes for journalists in the state.
Journalists of various local dailies and electronic media from the district, under aegis of Kolhapur Press Club (KPC), gathered in front of district collector's office and staged 'dharna' agitation amidst sloganeering for their demand.
Later, a delegation, led by KPC president Shital Dhanvade, met district collector Amol Yedge and handed over a memorandum of their demand.
