Mumbai, May 27 -- Mumbai continued to reel under the impact of intense monsoon showers and
thunderstorms, resulting in widespread incidents of tree collapses across the city, an official said on Tuesday.
In the past 24 hours, one person lost his life and another was injured in separate tree fall incidents, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Between 8 am Monday and 8 am Tuesday, the BMC's disaster management unit received 70 complaints of tree collapses - 46 from the island city, 17 from the western suburbs and seven from the eastern suburbs.
Municipal teams are actively engaged in clearing fallen trees and branches from affected locations.
