Mumbai, March 3 -- To boost the security of passengers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the Maharashtra government on Monday sanctioned the setting up of four new police stations under the Railway Police in Mumbai.

The new police stations will come up at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Bhayander, Ambernath and Asangaon railway stations as per a Government Resolution (GR) issued by the Home Department.

The state government approved the new police stations following the Government Railway Police (GRP) had earlier sent a proposal to the government to set up the new police stations.
