Mumbai, April 24 -- The Maharashtra government has issued a set of guidelines for electric bike taxi services in the urban areas of the state, officials said here on Thursday.

According to the guidelines, these bike taxi services can operate in the state and only electric two-wheelers (e-bikes) will be permitted under this policy to be run as bike taxis.

The maximum travel per trip has been limited to 15 kilometres while the fare will be determined by the respective Regional Transport Authorities and a physical separator is mandatory on the seat according to the guidelines.
