Mumbai, May 29 -- In a landmark achievement for gender inclusion in the armed forces, the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of 17 female cadets on Thursday, alongside more than 300 male counterparts.
The convocation for the 148th NDA course, held at the academy renowned as the "cradle of leadership", saw a total of 339 cadets receiving degrees conferred by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
The graduating class included 84 Bachelor of Science, 85 Computer Science, 59 Bachelor of Arts and 111 BTech degree recipients.
