Satara, June 8 -- A man and his 12-year-old daughter were killed after a tempo rammed their two-wheeler from behind on Pune-Bangalore national highway at Nagthane in Satara tehsil of the district on Sunday.
According to sources in Borgaon police, the father-daughter duo was on way to Nagthane on a two-wheeler, when a speeding tempo vigorously hit their two-wheeler from behind.
In this incident, the father and his daughter were seriously injured and admitted to a hospital but they succumbed during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Ibrahim Hasan Sheikh (38) and his daughter Mehak (12), residents of Khed tehsil in Pune district.
Police have arrested tempo driver Asif Sayyad (30) of Pune in this connection.
