Akola, Oct. 19 -- A farmer from Pardi village in Patur tehsil of Maharashtra's Akola district committed suicide by consuming poison, sources said. The farmer was reportedly weighed down by debt, continuous crop failures, and this year's drought.
The deceased was identified as Dadarav Naribhan Hivrale (70). He was under severe pressure from bank loans, SHG group loans, and loans from private moneylenders, in addition to heavy losses caused by rainfall that damaged his farming this year.
He consumed poison at his home while struggling to repay his debts and died during treatment at the Government District General Hospital in Akola.
This incident marks the second farmer suicide within a week in the same area, creating panic locally. His fam...
