Mumbai, Feb. 10 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence here on Monday, giving rise to speculations of a political tie-up ahead of upcoming municipal elections in the state.
However, Fadnavis clarified that this meeting was not of a political nature but personal.
The BJP is making strenuous efforts to capture the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in the municipal elections. There is also talk in political circles that BJP will take MNS along as part of this effort.
Furthermore, there is also talk that Raj's son Amit Thackeray, who was defeated in the assembly election, will go to the Legislative Council as a member appointed by the Governor from the BJP quota.
