Amravati, Jan. 4 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said the state government is focussed on transforming Amravati into a modern city by attracting investments, particularly in the information technology(IT) sector.

Speaking to the media here, Fadnavis said Amravati holds significant importance for the government and efforts will be made to bring IT-sector investments to create employment opportunities for local youth.

The chief minister, accompanied by BJP leader Navneet Rana, held a roadshow in the city as part of campaigning for party candidates ahead of the January 15 municipal corporation elections.
