Pune, Feb. 8 -- Power should not be seen as a form of ego, but as a tool for solving people's problems, observed former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Saturday.

Speaking at inaugural function of the 14th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad organised by MIT World Peace University and MIT School of Government here, she stressed that people's representatives must understand that power is not about arrogance, but about doing good work for the country's progress.

She said that individuals who understand power's true purpose to serve the people, rise to significant political positions.
