Mumbai, May 15 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Thursday that the sacrifices made by the Koyna Dam project victims for the state are great, it is the duty of the government to allocate alternative land and rehabilitate them.

Speaking at a meeting held in this regard in Mantralaya today, he said that the issue of complete rehabilitation and alternative land allocation for the Koyna Dam victims has been pending for a long time and he has already held several meetings and resolved the problems of the project victims.
