Mumbai, April 9 -- The officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Mumbai have busted a clandestine Mephedrone factory at Latur in Maharashtra, an official said here on Wednesday.

The agency has arrested seven persons, including a policeman, for their alleged involvement in the case and seized 11.36 kg of mephedrone valued at Rs 17 crore in the illicit market along with raw materials and equipment.

According to the DRI sources, based on specific intelligence, a raid was carried out in the remote hilly terrain of Rohina village, Latur, and during the search, 11.36 kg of mephedrone (8.44 kg dry and 2.92 kg liquid ) was recovered. Large quantities of raw materials and full-scale lab equipment were also recovered.
