Mumbai, Feb. 5 -- A special court here rejected an application filed by former Central Board
of Film Certification (CBFC) chief executive officer (CEO) Rakesh Kumar seeking to be discharged from a corruption case filed against him in 2014, as per the order made available on Wednesday.
In July 2014, CBI had arrested Kumar and an authorised censor agent and an advisory panel member of the CBFC for their alleged involvement in demanding a Rs 70,000 bribe to urgently clear a film from Chhattisgarh.
In his plea Kumar said that he was falsely implicated in the case and there is no evidance against him.
