Mumbai, March 17 -- After coming under fire for making a comparison of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Harshavardhan Sapkal in a sharp rebuttal on Monday pointed that some BJP leaders are now equating Fadnavis with cruel Aurangzeb.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the current brutal governance in Maharashtra is deeply troubling.
The gruesome murder of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, the Swargate rape case, farmers' suicides and growing incidents of atrocities against women paint a grim picture of the Fadnavis government's rule, he said.
