Mumbai, April 26 -- The city unit of BJP staged a 'dharna' outside the party's state office here on Saturday, on behalf of the Bengali cell of the party, to protest against alleged genocide of the Hindus in West Bengal.

On this occasion, the protesters made a demand to impose the President's rule in West Bengal to protect Hindus.

Talking to reporters after agitation, Mumbai BJP president Advocate Ashish Shelar alleged that violence in West Bengal was an insult to the Constitution.

"If you want to oppose the Waqf Act implemented within the framework of the Constitution, then do it democratically, according to democratic values, knock on the door of the courts. But in West Bengal, violence being perpetrated by inciting religious sentiment...
