Pune, Jan. 2 -- After securing several unopposed victories across various municipal corporations in Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also opened its account in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

BJP candidates Manjusha Nagpure from Ward No. 35 (Suncity-Manik Baug) and Shrikant Jagtap from Ward No. 35D have been elected unopposed. Following the announcement, BJP workers celebrated the development.

In Ward No. 35D, a general seat, BJP candidate Shrikant Jagtap was elected unopposed after rival candidate Nitin Gaikwad withdrew his nomination.

Similarly, in Ward No. 35, Manjusha Nagpure was elected unopposed after all opposing candidates withdrew their nominations on the last day of withdrawals.
