Beed (Maharashtra), Aug. 5 -- A severe fire caused by an electrical short circuit ravaged Mauli Bakery in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area of Beed district early Tuesday, destroying property worth Rs 1.5 crore.

Preliminary investigations by fire officials confirmed the cause as electrical short circuit.

The blaze consumed Rs 8 lakh in cash reserves, baking machinery, and raw materials before fire tenders from multiple stations contained it after hours of operation. No casualties occurred as the incident happened during non-business hours.

This marks the latest in a series of fire incidents across Maharashtra commercial establishments.
