Maha: Army jawan Gaikar cremated with militry honours in Ahilyanagar
Ahilyanagar, May 24 -- The mortal remains of the brave soldier Sandeep Pandurang Gaikar, who sacrificed his life while fighting against terrorists on Thursday, was cremated with military honours at Brahmanwada village in Akole taluka of the district on Saturday morning.
Martyr soldier Sandeep Gaikar was with the Maratha Battalion of the Army for last six to seven years. He was deployed on duty on the border in Kishtwar sector of Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorists opened fire on a group of 10 soldiers on Thursday morning.
In this attack, Sandeep Gaikar fought till his last breath while standing for the protection of the country.
He is survived by his parents, wife and a daughter.
