Mumbai, Dec. 31 -- BJP office-bearers revolted in its Nagpur stronghold today, with 42 of them resigning after the BJP directly distributed AB forms without announcing the list of candidates.
Some BJP office-bearers have filed nomination papers to contest as independents, while others resigned from the party.
Former BJP Nagpur mayor Archana Dehankar's husband Vinayak Dehankar has resigned from the party. Both husband and wife had sought tickets to contest the municipal corporation election scheduled to be held on January 15, 2026, but the BJP denied them tickets. Also, 42 BJP office-bearers resigned from Ward 14 after former corporator Sunil Agarwal was not given a nomination.
