Mumbai, June 1 -- Explaining the exodus of all seven NCP MLAs in Nagaland to the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP (AP) president Ajit Pawar said on Sunday that the MLAs had been experiencing unease for several months.

"Two to three months ago, the seven NCP MLAs from Nagaland met me and expressed that they were not able to function effectively. I also discussed this with the Chief Minister there. There was unrest among those MLAs," Pawar said.

He added that since all seven MLAs joined the ruling party together, the anti-defection law does not apply in this case.
