Nashik, March 18 -- Around 750 senior citizens from Maharashtra's Nashik district left for Ayodhya by a special train on Tuesday under the Chief Minister's Teerth Darshan Yojana.

The station area was all decked up with flowers and balloons, while incessant slogans of Jai Shri Ram added to the vibrant environs. A red carpet was laid on the platform.

The pilgrims were welcomed with the sound of drums and given identity cards during the registration process. The Passengers were accommodated in 11 coaches.

Social Welfare Department Regional Deputy Commissioner Madhav Wagh, Assistant Commissioner Devidas Nandgaonkar and others flagged off the special train, which will return to Nashik on March 22 morning. UNI SP SSP.
