Mumbai, June 16 -- At least 18 people have died and 65 suffered injuries due to rain-related incidents in Maharashtra since June one, according to a report issued by the State Disaster Management Authority here on Monday.
The deaths were reported in various incidents triggered by heavy rains, including road accidents, fall from bridges, drowning, lightning strikes and fire, while six cattle were also killed, it said.
Various places, such as Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburbs, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Raigad districts recorded very heavy rainfall in last 24 hours, sources in the disaster management authority said.
