Nagpur, Jan. 14 -- In a startling incident, a 103-year-old woman, bedridden for two months, was declared dead by her family, only to be discovered alive during funeral preparations.
According to family members, Gangabai Savji Sakhare, who had been surviving on minimal food and water due to illness, showed no signs of life on the evening of January 12.
Relatives were informed, and arrangements for her last rites, including tying her hands and feet and placing cotton in her nose, were underway.
Around 7 pm, her grandson noticed movement in her toes. The bindings were immediately removed and Gangabai began breathing, leaving her family and relatives in shock.
Funeral arrangements were subsequently cancelled.
