Mumbai, Nov. 27 -- Ahead of the Mumbai civic elections, a major deadlock has emerged between the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) over 75 seats, sources said on Thursday.
Uddhav Thackeray visited the MNS Chief Raj Thackeray at his residence Shivtirth in central Mumbai in the forenoon for a crucial meeting to break the deadlock. The closed door meeting lasted around 45 to 50 minutes, sources said.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has a total of 227 seats, and the MNS is reportedly demanding seats in several important wards.
