Thane, Sept. 17 -- At least six staff members of a toll operator at the Padgha toll plaza have been booked by the Thane district rural police on Thursday on the alleged charges of refusing to allow an MLA to pass through the plaza and abusing him and his driver, the police said.
According to police, the INC MLA from Igatpuri Hiraman Khoskar was returning to Nashik from Mumbai around 2230 hrs on Wednesday night by the car, it was stopped by toll plaza staffers at Padgha. They sought ID card, and before the ID card could produced, they abused the MLA.
They also insisted to pay a toll.
Meanwhile, other staff members also joined and created a scene for quite some, and later they were allowed to pass through.
